Sat / 22 - Annual Thanksgiving Celebration - An event not to miss! 6:00-8:30 PM at El Estero Church, 490 Camino el Estero in Monterey. Rides available from the Monterey Institute Library parking lot (Van Buren between Franklin & Jefferson) at 5:40, Trader Joe's entrance at 5:50, and MPC Bus Stop (below Library) at 5:50. January - Chinese New Year Celebration
February 27 - March 1, 2009 - ISI Annual Snow/Ski Trip - ISI Monterey joins with other ISI groups (Santa Cruz, Bay Area) for a fabulous weekend in the Sierra mountains (Sonora, Twain Harte, skiing at Dodge Ridge). Snowplay, skiing and fun for all! Homestays arranged in conjuction with local churches. Leave Monterey around 1 PM Friday, return Sunday ~ 6 PM. Enjoy a full day in the snow on Saturday, time with host families and churches on Sunday before returning home. Cost for the entire weekend will be $100 or less (if skiing), much less if only doing snow play. January ~ March - Saturday Ski Days - We do not have specific dates set for these yet, but hope to join up with other ISI groups for one or two Saturdays during the 2009 ski season. The Saturday Ski Bus day will involve leaving very early Saturday morning (possible overnight in Bay Area on Friday), a full day of skiing at a resort in the Lake Tahoe area, one meal provided (you pay rest), ski equipment rental and return, all for between $110-130. Details to be announced, but again, if you are interested, please let us know through email or by using the "Talk to Us" feature.
