On behalf of ISI-Monterey, we welcome YOU. ISI is made up of many caring people who have a genuine interest in getting to know you and learning about your culture while sharing their own with you. A few of us hold staff positions, and you may hear from us more than others, but there are many more who support us and look forward to meeting and supporting you as well. Dale & Carolyn DePalatis ISI Monterey Staff Email: isimonterey@gmail.com Dale & Carolyn have been working with ISI for 15 years, first as volunteers and then, for the last 12+ years, on staff. Dale also is a high school English teacher in the area. Both are Stanford University graduates (where they met and fell in love!), and Carolyn completed her MA in Japanese Translation & Interpretation at the Monterey Institute of International Studies. They both have lived and traveled several places overseas, but now make Monterey their home with their three children, Justin (12), Erika (10) and Luke (6). Passion: God, Jesus, family and all things international…oh yes, and dark chocolate! Result: Living lives for Jesus, loving others with His heart, delighting in parenting…and eating high-quality chocolate while doing it!

John & Joyce Steers ISI Monterey Staff Email: jsteers@isiwebnet.net John & Joyce have been volunteering with ISI Monterey for 14 years, and John has recently joined ISI staff. They have both invested their own time, energy and lives into many international students over the years. Although they have five (grown) children of their own, many of these internationals have become just like sons and daughters to them and they remain in close contact with them even when they are long gone from Monterey. Passion: God, Jesus, the great outdoors and all things international. Result: Living lives for Jesus, loving others with His heart and taking great joy in sharing that love with others.
