> We love short & easy . . . . . . . . . “Study Break” hikes!
In between our bi-monthly Friendship Gatherings at Simoneau House, these hikes are great opportunities to see beautiful special places. Living here for years, we know many easy to get to and easy to hike to places that others won't know about.
Join our first hike to a favorite Hidden Redwood Forest, Sat 9/10, 10:00 - about 2:00.
For more photos and to sign up, go to https://bit.ly/3TbykrC.
THINGS TO BRING:
> Long pants and socks above the ankle -- to protect against Poison Oak, which can cause serious skin irritation.
> Good shoes, hopefully with strong soles that won't slip. (About buying good hiking shoes, go to https://bit.ly/3KzLgDL.)
> Hat & sunscreen.
> Layers of clothes that can be taken off or put on depending on wind or fog.
> Lunch and water, absolutely!
> A backpack to put layers, food & water in. (Note, carrying things in hands is not recommended. You will often need to use your hands to grab on to things for stability or just pick things up to look at.)

On Campus, 1st & 3rd Saturday evenings each month.
For All International Students & Scholars – from every culture & background – a unique opportunity for creating cross-cultural friendships and building bridges that contribute to making the world a better place. |
This is always a highlight... two times a month!
These times together are never dull, always an adventure! Join us and tell others. > Share your favorite foods and enjoy the foods others bring. A great time to experiment with cooking :) > Meet new international students/scholars. > Practice your English & learn new vocab. > Learn fun, crazy competitive games. > Join in lively discussions; share your ideas, and learn about each other, personally, culturally, and professionally. We begin eating at 6:00 and end at 8:30 If you don't have time to fix food and get here on time, come anyway, even without food -- It's the friendship that counts. If you bring food, bring it ready to serve; it doesn't have to be hot -- If needed, use a microwave in Holland or Samson Center. We bring hot rice plus a main dish and a salad... Bring whatever works for you, but no soup or sodas. Or come without! Guaranteed... It will be fun! |
